At Brian Center Health and Rehab – Durham, we love to get out in the community to educate and encourage others whenever possible. Luckily for us, we had two wonderful opportunities during the month of June.
First, we were able to visit the Durham Senior Center during their weekly exercise classes. We provided lots of delicious yet healthy snacks, as we love to rally behind the active seniors in the community. We also provided a simple screening to determine if these already active ladies and gentlemen would benefit from outpatient Physical, Occupational, and or Speech Therapy, and quite a few of them discovered that they would! It just goes to show you that therapy isn’t only for those who are going through an illness; most everyone could benefit from a “tune up” once in awhile!
The following week we were lucky enough to attend the Triangle Caregivers Conference at the Durham Convention Center. It was so nice to meet those who are the backbone of their families and to be able to offer them support through the inpatient and outpatient programs we offer at the Brian Center. We salute those individuals who sacrifice so much to care for their loved ones when they need them the most.
